The Short Version

Old Blue Chair LLC operates oldbluechair.com and ChoiceRealms (choicerealms.com). We collect minimal data, don't sell anything, and respect your privacy.

What We Collect

ChoiceRealms Accounts

If you create a ChoiceRealms account, we store your username, email, and game data (characters, saves, story progress). Data is stored in user-scoped paths on AWS S3.

Analytics

We use self-hosted, cookieless analytics. We track page views and events using anonymous counters. No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected. No cookies are set. No consent banner is needed.

Email Subscriptions

If you subscribe to updates, we store your email address with double opt-in confirmation. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Third-Party Services

We use:

  • AWS — Hosting, storage, and infrastructure
  • CloudFront — CDN (may log IP addresses in standard access logs)
  • AWS SES — Email delivery
  • AWS Bedrock — AI services for dynamic game content

These services have their own privacy policies that apply when you use our sites.

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies. CloudFront may use technical cookies for CDN functionality. Our analytics are entirely cookieless.

Data Retention

  • Account data: Kept until you request deletion
  • Game saves: Kept with your account
  • Analytics: Aggregated counters only, no individual records
  • Email subscriptions: Kept until you unsubscribe
